Ngorongoro and Ngyuwe
ZooParc Overloon has seven themed areas with more than 80 species. In Ngorongoro, named after the crater in Tanzania, live African lions, reticulated giraffes, cheetahs, ostriches and wild dogs, as well as the mhorr gazelle, of which only around 250 remain in the wild. From the BaseCamp terrace, halfway along the route, you look out over the giraffes.
The newest area is Ngyuwe, Tropical Africa, open since 11 July 2025: almost two hectares with 19 species, including the okapi, the pygmy hippo and the sitatunga. Three species can only be seen here in the Netherlands, such as the drill. There are covered spots, so it is a pleasant place to be even when it rains.

Madagascar and the jungle
In Itampolo, the Madagascar area, you walk across the lemur island among ring-tailed lemurs, black-and-white ruffed lemurs and Alaotra bamboo lemurs. A little further on lives the fossa, the largest predator on Madagascar.
Madidi, named after the national park in Bolivia, is a hectare of South America with a tropical jungle greenhouse full of sloths, tamanduas and spectacled caimans; the animals there are most active around 10:00 and 16:00. In Jangalee, Hindi for wild, live Amur tigers, clouded leopards, tapirs and capybaras.

Penguins, pandas and feeding times
By Headquarter, the main building with the restaurant, the red pandas and Asian small-clawed otters live outside. At Boulders Beach, named after the beach in South Africa, you find the African penguins, with a terrace overlooking them.
There are feeding presentations every day; according to the zoo programme these include 10:00 at the kangaroos, 13:30 at the giraffes and 16:00 at the penguins. Through Stichting Wildlife, ZooParc supports almost thirty nature conservation projects worldwide.
Tip from reception
Order the car park exit ticket along with your tickets, so you can drive straight off in the afternoon. Plan your route around the feeding times in the zoo programme, for example the giraffes at half past one by BaseCamp and the penguins at four. Please note: Overloon cannot be reached by public transport at weekends.
