Steaming outdoor pools of Thermaalbad Arcen

Thermal water from 892 metres down

Thermaalbad Arcen is on the Klein Vink estate in Arcen. The mineral water comes from a spring 892 metres deep and is 35 to 36 degrees in most of the pools, indoors and outdoors. There are bubble benches, whirlpools with underwater jet massage and a waterfall for your neck and shoulders.

The baths are not a swimming pool and are for adults only, aged 18 and over: no jumping or diving, and your phone goes in the locker. Swimwear is always required in the pools. You cannot reserve; the ticket desk closes at 20:30 and the pools at 21:30.

Six saunas and a steam room

The sauna area has six Finnish saunas of 80 or 90 degrees: three with eucalyptus, one with lime, one with bamboo and a seasonal sauna. The Turkish steam room is 45 degrees, at a humidity of about 98 per cent. You cool off in the Kneipp, plunge and foot baths, and then relax on a lounger in the garden.

Saunas, Kneipp baths and relaxation rooms are included in admission; the steam cabins and the infrared sauna cost a small supplement. In the saunas you wear no swimwear, except on swimwear days: every Wednesday, every Friday and the first full weekend of the month.

Tip from reception

Choose a weekday: 2.5 hours then costs € 20, at the weekend € 23. If you would rather wear swimwear in the sauna, come on a Wednesday or Friday. You cannot reserve, so arrive well before half past eight in the evening, when the ticket desk closes.
