With exhibitions, presentations of old crafts, utensils and tools, Museum de Locht provides a good picture of life in the countryside in North Limburg from 1850 to 1950. But the museum is also about modern times: mushrooms and asparagus in a modern production, greenhouse horticulture and all modern applications of 'food'. There is also a day laborer house, brewery, clog maker, blacksmith shop and chapel located on the grounds of the Locht, making it a fully-fledged museum.
On Sundays there are regular demonstrations and special activities for children and adults. Think of demonstrations of old crafts such as: baking bread, weaving, tailoring, forging or making syrup. Children can also have fun with various old-fashioned and modern toys.
The National Asparagus and Mushroom Museum are housed in separate pavilions on the site. Here you get a clear picture of the cultivation of both crops and the tools that are used. Discover Museum de Locht. Taste the land!
